Michelin is one of the world leaders in manufacturing and marketing of tires. The products are mainly sold under the Michelin, BFGoodrich, Kleber, Uniroyal and Taurus brands. Net sales break down by activity as follows:
- sale and distribution of tires (84.5%): tires for cars and delivery trucks (62.5% of net sales) and heavy trucks (37.5%). The group has two integrated tire distribution networks (Euromaster and TCI);
- other (15.5%): sale of specialty tires for agricultural and civil engineering machines, two-wheeled vehicles, and aircraft. Michelin also publishes tourist maps and guides (No. 1 in Europe), sells digital road mobility assistance equipment and services (ViaMichelin), and sells Michelin Lifestyle products (accessories for automobiles and cycles, collectables, etc.) developed in partnership with licensed companies.
At the end of 2013, Michelin had 80 production sites throughout the world.Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: France (9.8%), Europe (30.7%), North America (34.7%), and other (24.8%).
