New business concepts
The Board of Directors of Suomen Hoivatilat Oyj convened on 12 June and made decisions on several significant new business initiatives.
New product group - prefabricated daycare centres
Hoivatilat is enhancing its service offering and is bringing a new product group to the market: movable prefabricated daycare centres for rent. The prefabricated daycare centre is manufactured in standardised factory conditions and is transported to the building site as ready modules. Factory production significantly speeds up the delivery and building process and the movability of the prefabricated daycare centre also makes it possible for customers to lease the centre for shorter periods at an attractive rate. The first prefabricated daycare centre will be located in Raahe, where a 1000 square metre facility for six groups of children will be built by the end of 2018. The service provider for the daycare centre is Touhula Varhaiskasvatus.
Hoivatilat a part of Kuopion Portti
Hoivatilat signed a commercial agreement for the nursing home facilities and serviced apartments to be built as part of the Kuopion Portti project in the centre of Kuopio. A total of 65 serviced and assisted living apartments will be built and owned by Suomen Hoivatilat Oyj in the form of a joint-stock property company. The service provider in the property will be Attendo on a long-term lease and it will be built by Lapti Group's Rakennusliike Lapti. The value of the investment is approximately EUR 10 million. The property is scheduled to be completed by January 2020.
